What operating system is DDM based on?
Dante Domain Manager (DDM) is distributed as a software appliance .iso. Current DDM releases are based on Rocky Linux. Earlier releases were based on CentOS 7 (1.6 and earlier), which reached End of Life on 30 June 2024.
I’m running an older DDM release on CentOS 7. What should I do?
Upgrade to the latest DDM release. CentOS 7 no longer gets security updates, and it doesn’t include drivers for some newer server hardware, including some network interface cards (NICs). You can download the latest DDM .iso from Software Downloads
What’s the recommended way to install DDM?
We recommend installing DDM on a Type 1 hypervisor such as VMware ESXi®, Proxmox, or Microsoft Hyper-V. The hypervisor handles the hardware drivers, so you’re less likely to hit compatibility issues.
I need a bare-metal install. What should I check?
Before you buy server hardware, check that Rocky Linux supports it, especially the NIC. Contact Dante Support if you’re unsure.
