To manage Dante-enabled devices with DDM, you’ll first need to enroll them in a domain. Once a device is enrolled, DDM users who are members of the domain can view and configure it in Dante Controller. The device can also support label-based routing across subnets.
If an attempt is made to enroll any devices that cannot be enrolled, a 'Cannot Enroll' menu item is displayed at the bottom of the device list on the Devices page. The Cannot Enroll page displays all relevant device names, plus the reason that they cannot be enrolled. Devices that cannot be enrolled can exchange media with other unmanaged devices as per normal Dante operation.
In case a device cannot be enrolled:
- Check whether the device is locked (Dante Controller> Devices> Device View> Devices> Lock/Unlick), and unlock it if necessary.
- Make sure the Dante device's firmware is up to date: As of DDM 1.9, pre-v4.x firmware (legacy) devices are no longer supported.
- Try power-cycling the device: Disconnect both the power and network cables for at least 20 seconds (up to 5 minutes if the issue persists), then reconnect and power the device back on. Wait for it to reconnect — it should reappear under Unmanaged Devices once discovery is complete.
- If the device is still in an error state, please perform a Lonely Reset on the unit and retry enrolment.
