Every user in a Dante Director account has one of two access levels: Account Administrator or Custom Access.
Account Administrator
Administrators have full control of the account. Only they can add users, create Sites and Rooms, and change account-level settings. If someone needs to set up a new building or invite a contractor, they either need this level or have to ask someone who has it.
Custom Access
Custom Access limits a user to selected Sites. When giving this role (as admin), Director lists your Sites so you can tick the ones this person should see, or click Select All. Select All doesn’t make someone an administrator. They can work in every Site but still can’t add users, create Sites or change account settings.
Use Custom Access for anyone whose work is tied to particular places, such as an integrator commissioning one campus building or a tech who looks after a single office.
Adding users and editing permissions
- Log in to your Dante Director account.
- Open Settings in the bottom-left corner.
- Click Users.
To add a new user, click Add User button in the right-top corner, enter their email address and choose their access level. Director sends them an invitation email with a link to set their password.
To change an existing user’s access, find this user on the list under Users and click Edit button next to it.
