After installing Dante Controller, you may get an error message that comes up in Windows from Dante Update Helper: ”Windows cannot find ‘tar’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.” This refers to our software trying to use the Tar compression system that was added to Windows 10 in Build 17063. If you are receiving this error, please update Windows. If you are unable to update Windows for any reason, you can uninstall the Dante Update Helper from add/remove programs. Dante Controller and Dante Updater will still work without that application installed.
